iCm is an abbreviation for Instax Capturing Moment. Every moment captured with an instax camera is unique and real, without being altered or edited. Memories are captured forever and are made real, instantly. Huang Xiaode is the founder of iCM Photography, and he has exclusively shared with us the story behind his brand. We certainly agree with his philosophy that memories are better kept on a physical Instax photo, rather than hidden somewhere in our computers or phones. Read on to find out more about Xiaode and iCM Photography!
Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I am a hobbyist photographer. I believe that every photo tells a story. Be it big or small story.
Q: Can you tell us how iCM Photography started?
iCm Photography started by renting instax/polaroid cameras to people. We see that most people are using digital cameras and a lot of photos are taken but all saved in a memory card or computer. When you use an instax camera, you are able to keep something physical and save the hassle of choosing the right photo to be printed out and going to a shop to get it printed. Hence we want more people to have a feel of how such captured instant moments can better preserve raw memories without having to edit and choose the right photo.
Q: Did you always want to do this, or was it something that happened naturally?
It was something planned by my partner and I. We want more people to start using instax cameras.
Q: How would you describe your brand & your products?
Our products are something the older generation has been using and the new generation will love.
Q: What is unique about your business that differentiates you from this very competitive industry?
What made us different from other sellers is that we provide the widest range of design in the global market. We bring in designs from Japan, Hong Kong, China and Taiwan so that local consumers will be pampered with lots of choices.
Q: What is your ultimate goal or dream for iCM Photography?
Ultimately we hope that when people think of instant cameras, ‘iCm Photography‘ will come into their mind.
Q: Euforia Singapore is a social enterprise with a mission to help Non-Profit Organisations and their members. Is Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) part of your plans for your brand?
We are still too small a company to talk about CSR. However, we do take care of small green initiatives such as reminding our customers to recycle the film cartridge, and we also use recycled paper/magazine paper to wrap our products before mailing it out to customers.
Q: Can you share any of your personal volunteer or CSR-related experiences with our readers?
I have organised 2 overseas trips to Laos and Philippines for volunteer work during my school days. Although for such trips, we are going over to help the people there, but usually the people who benefit the most are those who volunteer. At the end of the day it is always us, the volunteers, who learn more and appreciate more after the trip. We learn how to look at different angles of life when we do volunteer work.
Q: Any final words for our readers?
We all love shopping and online shopping has made it easily available for us too, but if shopping can be made more meaningful, why not?
